They kind of cut corners with Well of Suffering. It has the same icon as Well of Power except for the lightning bolts coming out of the well.

wow nice one.

its even worse than that:

Well of Power, Well of the Profane, Well of Suffering, Well of Blood. (flip, opacity, exclusion, linear 40%).

first one to find the original photo, location of this well wins a cookie.

--------------------------------------

while looking at the skills another struck me as familiar. after a little digging i found this:

Bitter Chill, Shiro-Hannya mask (white hanaya mask) - Inoue Corporation. (resize, opacity at 40%) - Probability Certain.

http://nohmask21.com/eu/shirohannya.html

These types of mask represent Hannaya a traditional female demon monster in Japanese storytelling. Used mainly in Noh theatre the image has been popularised thanks to characters like Yoshimitsu (Tekken, SC) and manga.

I admittedly suck with graphics editing, but I'm pretty sure Shadowsong is Geordi Laforge/Levar Burton. Either that or I've watched too much Star Trek and see it in everything Can't find a good comparison picture though.

SNIP

hmm well Zel its possible but its difficult to tell without a pic in the same pose (those types of pics just settle it beyond any doubt).

another photo edit for our pleasure, this time its Wall Streets famous "Charging Bull" that makes an appearance on the GW battlefield.

Bull's Strike, "Charging Bull" by Arturo Di Modica. (resize, opacity 50%) - probability Certain

there are a few slight differences, i suspect the artist was using two different photos for this, one which was probably this:

photograph by Enrique Sallent.

notably the "blur" effect.

Before continuing on the animal theme i would like to state that every animal is different. However animals of the same species share common traits that make distinguishing individuals extremely hard (if not impossible) when details are removed.
body proportions, manner of displacement, and other identifiers are common traits.

Thus for example finding the exact cheetah for Call of Haste is (imo) a futile (even more futile than my posts, yes thats possible) endevour. The reason for this is that unless the artist copied the spots then all cheetahs run that way.

Still, in my experience deducting the original photo using Camera positioning, light, composition and certain determining signs is within the realm of the possible.

Having said this let us have a look at the common Grey Wolf Canis Lupus known in GW as Brutal Strike.

Brutal Strike, grey wolf (abwil0011504) - License: Ablestock Royalty-Free. (minor resize, opacity 50%) - probability low.

hey at least this one was royalty free.

EDIT: After playing about with various animal images ive come across several cases where "one picture fits all". Although evidently photo traced finding the original is nigh impossible. I'll leave the animals alone for now.

To everyone who commented: Your fun is my fun, it makes the time spent spent on it worthwhile. Thanks!

Sleeper Service: I don't mind seeing the results of your research here. It's definitely related, and thankfully, this topic is not swamped, so feel free to post your findings.

I even think I have a lead for you: the first time I looked at Dust Cloak in hi-res, it screamed "fremen" at me. Maybe you'd want to look at Dune book covers and other illustrations to find the original?

I just downloaded both zips by clicking on the links in the first post. Everything was in order, archive testing reported no errors. Maybe you should try right-click and save as? Your browsers might not handle the zip MIME-type as they should, due to to previous a binding. That's the only guess I have.

Wow, this is cool...glad I stumbled upon this. Is MrGuildBoi's avatar a match, or just a joke as well?
